Yesterday before I left home, I checked on my grandma and kissed her forehead. Around noon time I received a call saying grandma has passed away. She died at 84 and she lived her life to the fullest. This is how I wish to remember her, the woman who always sang in the garden until her roses are in bloom; the woman who I feared as a child but not as much as I loved her. She made very good buchi and kakanin; and she smoked cigarettes with no filters. She lost all her teeth but she always looked so beautiful when she laughs. She enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling (WWF) matches on Sundays. And she cooked very pale adobo. Rest in peace, Nanay...
