Yesterday could have been a very gloomy day except for the fact that I was able to spend some quality time with a very special young lady. Thank you, Abbi, for putting up with your GeeGee for a few hours. We shopped for her birthday and then had lunch, trying to dodge the rain! And today she is nine! When I told her I had been there when she took her first breath she smiled! The rain cant dampen these memories! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for keeping me here on this old earth long enough to enjoy my great grand children! This morning is Sunday School and Church , then its out to 2020 for some good music before going back to Church for a treat! I stop and think about how much I am given and I cant help but look up, smile, and say thank You. God is so good and He wants His children to have the best of everything. Its up to us to realize that and to move toward that goal. Dont do something nice for someone expecting something in return......that mentality will turn a blessing into a debt. Always do good deeds because it is what God expects from you. I am amazed at what happens in my life when I listen to HIM. I give thanks for my family and ask for blessings on them daily. The same goes for my dear friends. Praying for family and friends comes easy......its when the Lord lays it on my heart to pray for those who hurt me and are unkind to me that I encounter a struggle. Im sort of like that proverbial stubborn old mule, but once I obey, my heart is lighter and I feel better. Anger, ill feelings, unforgiveness, and grudges only hurt me. Our S.S. lesson today is from James and about controlling our tongues! The Lord only knows how some of us struggle with this! I pray daily for a sweet spirit and ask for Gods guidance before I open my mouth! If we pray before we say we will save ourselves a whole lot of hurt! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your Son, the Cross, my Salvation, my family, my friends, and for all of the blessings You give me. YOU took me at my worst and gave me YOUR best! (and HE still walks with me, never leaving me to face trials alone!) I pray that all of you know and experience these same blessings! Follow Jesus today! HE doesnt give us detours or excuses! May the Glory be HIS.
