Yesterday followed whats become the usual pattern this year when having a ramble about town. Breakfast or in this case lunch at the Blu E Ird then a dander up the hill and onto wherever. However its now in danger of becoming as expensive as listening to Bob Harris. The foods one thing, but the music is usually good enough to eat too. First its Kylie the owner introducing me to Otis Gibbs, now its Fergus who works there introducing me to this fella. This is the most recent album by Willy Mason. Hes another in an increasingly long line of contemporary Country artists pulling from any source they feel can help them add satisfying depth to their music. The voice is a worn slightly weary sounding at times instrument that gives his sound gravitas when required. Im liking this, a lot. It maybe came out in 2012 but its looking like a real contender for one of my top 5 for 2014.
