Yesterday hundreds of students in Jadavpur University main campus potested, demanding a fresh probe into a molestation incident in which a girl student of the university had alleged that as many as ten male students dragged her into the boys hostel and molested her. The protesting students have demanded to set up a fresh probe committee as they did not depend on the internal investigation being conducted by the college. The protestors were suddenly attacked a little past midnight. They started being dragged out forcefully by the police. There was NO warning. The police beat up the students, helped by TMC gundas(antisocials) and RAF. 40+ students in hospital, 37 arrested! Protests have and will always be shunned!
