Yesterday i watched a very interesting documentary on one of the most important works of Sci-Fi literature, the bible of Sci-Fi: Dune by Frank Herbert a very deep Spiritual and Political story thats unequaled. The documentary deals with the movie that never saw the light of day as scheduled in 1975. One of the greatest movies in history it is said but that was never seen until today, here it is finally: Alejandro Jodorowsky Dune! If you saw the 1985 Dune by David Lynch you havent seen anything yet. If you do not know Dune at all and you consider yourself a fan of Sci-Fi well go watch the documentary as soon as possible, you wont believe how much stuff was borrowed from this movie in movies that came after whether were talking about Star Wars, Alien, Flash Gordon The Terminator up to Prometheus just to name those. If this movie had come out our cinematographic history would have been very different today. A completely avant garde and profound movie for 1975 with electro 70s music by Pink Floyd and Magma, unique actors such as Salvador Dalí and Orson Welles amongst others. Unique creators such as comic book artist Moebius, writer Dan OBannon and Swiss Artist H.R. Giger THE TEAM behind Alien, without mentioning Jodorowsky himself a genius creative director who assembled this team of creators.
