Yesterday in Santiago, we observed the 41st anniversary of the US-aided military coup that ousted democratically elected socialist president, Salvador Allende and instated cruel military rule under dictator Augusto Pinochet. We went to the National Stadium that was used as a torture center and makeshift jail during the dictatorship where we met several survivors of torture and several descendants of those killed. It was a profound and moving experience, and Im sure youre all just dying to hear my blog post about it. So Ill post one soon. In the mean time read this article. Its good.
