Yesterday in my post I said culture has an influence over emotions. Another aspect which has influence over emotions is personality. Every individual is different from each other and thus the personality traits of every individual are also different. It is not necessary that in a given situation every individual will behave in a similar way. I will sight an example - 4 friends go for an event. The first person says the event was really good I will go there again. The second person says the event was good but I will not be going there again. The third person says the event was really boring. The fourth person says every time you take me to some boring place next time I am not going anywhere with you. The event which could be a movie or mela or circus or party or seminar or workshop is the same. But the expressions of all the four individuals are different. This is where the personality has a role to play. Thus we need to understand that in a given situation based on our personality we will express our emotions. Just like with the beginning of Navratri today some might be excited while for some it would be yet another festival of India and some might not understand why does India celebrate so many festivals. Well whatever emotions one is experiencing is fine and on that thought I will like to wish everyone a Happy Navratri. :-)
