Yesterday morning a super kind hearted man came up to the yard sale and was looking at some of the shoes. He carefully went through several pairs, would walk around the perimeter in them, come back to his initial spot and contemplate if they were his pair.... Once he was ready he walked up to me and said I dont have much $, Im on the streets, but would you take $2 for these? Of course my immediate response was you can have them and while you are at it - take another pair and a few clothes too ... But knowing the intention of our yard sale he insisted on donating to our trip!! It was one of the most humbling/equally rewarding parts of doing the yard sale yesterday.. It fueled me for the day and when a street person would pass by - I couldnt help but encourage them to grab some shoes, clothes... My heart was so burdened to give and the sheer surprise and appreciation these guys had- made it all worth it. We have such a BIG purpose on such a small scale when we peel back the blinds and really seek to find the needs.
