Yesterday my wife and I went to look for the whale that was in the Elizabeth River in Virginia by mistake since the 14th of August. After a little research on where it had been spotted, I had an idea of where to look. We tried to go to a boat launch and it was under construction, so we couldnt go there. Then we started driving around, found a school connected to a channel that led into the river, parked and threw the canoe in. Then we paddled 5-7 miles to find police boats towing the whale out to sea. We kept up with the police boats the 5-7 miles back to where we got in and took photos and these videos while anywhere from 20 to 100 feet away from the whale. It was cool to see it either way, and no one else has this footage or close ups in photos like I do, but I wish we could have seen it alive. It was the closest either one of us had been to a whale--dead or alive.
