Yesterday on Joy FM, Dr Tony Aidoo admitted that his office has been nonfunctional for the last 11months. Professionals under his office do not have the data they need to work. Today on Joy FM, Prof. Naana Agyemang, Educ. Min. stated that with an absentees rate of 27% and with a workforce of 280,000 in the education sector, 76,000 people are paid an estimated GHC900m annually for being absent. Plus, about 3,000 teachers are unattached bt paid. If paid even GHC1,000 translates to GHC3m annually. Too much waste in the public sector.#cutthewaste
