Yesterday, on the way into town, we drove past a squashed kitten in the middle of the road. It was pouring down so hard that we nearly missed a small movement - a sibling, alive, huddled next to the dead body. Brett slammed on the brakes, fished the tiny, drenched kitten out from the sticky mess and threw her into the car. Detour to the vet made us late for doctors appointment, but Mayas first animal rescue was well worth it :)
