Yesterday, the Millennium Reserve Steering Committee project evaluation teams selected as their top 3 priorities three projects that have an impact on this region. 1) Establish a feasibility study for creating a Calumet Heritage corridor stretching from the Indiana Dunes to Pullman; 2) Opening Lake Calumet to the public by transferring unused land around the lake to the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources for recreational purposes; and 3) Assist in the effort to make Pullman into a National Park. S.E. Task Force vice-president Tom Shepherd serves on the Committee.
