Yesterday the Nova Scotia SPCA charged a Halifax County resident with four counts of animal cruelty. On February 6, 2014 investigators responded to a complaint that a dog was left outside during a snowstorm. Upon arrival, the investigators found the dog in need of medical attention, without access to fresh water, severely matted, and without shelter from injurious cold. The dog was seized. A tumour was successfully removed from the dogs side and the dog has been adopted.
