Yesterday was a fine Monday morning in the constituency office meeting residents and working on solutions to different issues. #Kibra Onward! •New police recruit receives mattress and blankets ready for start of training at Kiganjo Police Academy. As MP I encourage our youth to join the disciplined forces and lobby hard for as many as possible to get admitted. •Maendeleo Ya Wanawake grassroots leaders came to a consultation forum with their MP. We set some goals on programs we will work together on. There will never be genuine development until women are included in the forefront or planning and execution. Twende kazi! •Met the second batch of painters, carpenters, welders, and electricians from Kibra who received free advanced skills training and certification in their trades. I facilitated the training through partnership with Alibhai Shariff, National Housing Foundation, and UN Habitat. The construction industry is booming in Kenya and demand for skilled workers is high. I will continue to support those interested in this industry. •Bursary application for KCSE 2013 candidates starting first year college or university is now open. Please drop off cover letter, results slip, proof of Kibra residence, admission letter and fees structure at the CDF office in Kibera DC / DO headquarters by COB September 1st. ☆Have a great week ahead!
