Yesterday was a hectic day. Took Kimberly to Spokane with me so I could take her to her doctors appointment in Colville afterwards. Then we had to pick up Grandson Loomis at his daddys out Williams Lake. After spending a few minutes there I then had to take Kimberly and Loomis home up Onion Creek. By the time I got home it was a little after 6. Took the few things I bought into the house, then went to clean the clinic. I was so tired by the time I got home. For somebody thats usually quite the night-owl, I went to bed at 9:30. My skin is breaking down in a couple areas so I was given some samples of Aquaphor to put on in those areas. I was also given a couple hydrogel sheets that are specifically made for that and are supposed to last up to 3 days. The nurse put a couple on, but they didnt want to stay very well. So I went to Wal Mart thats just a few blocks from CCNW and bought a sport tank to help hold those gel sheets in place. It kind of worked, but not real great so I really didnt want to try to wear all that to bed. Took it all off and put the Aquaphor on the bad spots and the Emu Oil on the rest of the radiated area. They told me to quit using the Aloe for now and just use the Aquaphor and Emu Oil. Today they told me to also start doing vinegar washes on the radiated area. Its a simple vinegar and water solution. Have to do that for 15 minutes 4 times a day. Then shortly after I got home early this afternoon, I got a phone call from the cardiologists office letting me know that the insurance wouldnt authorize the requested echo-cardiogram. They want to know why its important that I have another one. My oncologist wants one every 3 months to make sure all is OK with my heart and that the problems I do have are not getting worse--because chemo is hard on the heart to begin with. The cardiologists office wanted me to keep the appointment with the cardiologist though. Well, when I called to request a fuel voucher for that appointment (which is at Holy Family in Spokane) they want a referral to see if they agree that my going to that particular cardiologist is a must or if I can just go see this one that travels to both Chewelah and Republic (probably only once a month to each place) since both of those places are closer to me than Spokane. If they wont cover my fuel for the Spokane cardiologist Im going to have to totally cancel that appointment and make one with that cardiologist that goes to Chewelah. I told the lady that I was talking to about the fuel vouchers that Id rather go to the one in Chewelah because Id have to go over a mountain pass (Sherman) to go to Republic and I dont want to do that this time of year. She said it probably wouldnt matter which one I chose to go to because both places are about the same distance from me. But I think Republic is actually a little farther. With winter coming, I really dont want to be going over Sherman if I can help it. That lady told me shed let me know, probably by Thursday, what happens about the voucher. I told her I needed to at least know by Friday so Id know whether or not if I have to call and cancel that appointment with the cardiologist, which is Monday morning. Theyll probably tell me I cant see that one and have to go with the other one. Which is OK as I really dont care what cardiologist I have to see, but still what a head-ache all this is.
