Yesterday was a scary day for Jeff and me. He has been sick for about a week now. He has been very weak and had other medical issues. He went to urgent care on Wednesday and they said that he was just depressed and prescribed him some meds and sent him home. I didnt agree with the diagnosis and knew there was something else wrong. He was getting worse and worse so I took him to urgent care yesterday. That it when they said they thought he had a severe kidney infection. They said that they would do bloodwork as well to see if he should be hospitalized with it or not. They sent us home and told us they would call us later in the day with results. Around 2:00 they called us and told us to get him to the ER immediately because his bloodwork was very abnormal. We get to the ER and they start talking about how his liver enzymes and white blood count being extremely high. Then they start talking about leukemia and mentioning that his liver and spleen are enlarged. They order more tests and stomach scan. They said that they would have results within a half hour. After a long agonizing hour and a half the doctor finally comes into tell tell us that although he could be under the weather for a while he has mono and severe dehydration . We know that it may take a while for him to feel 100 percent but we were very relieved because we know that it could have been so much worse. God is definitely watching out for us.
