Yesterday was a whirlwind day! I traveled to Livonia with Gwen, my mom and my sister to attend graduation and to be present for the initial presentation of the scholarship begin given in honor & memory of my terrific brother, Greg Cole. (It meant a lot to be there, but the experience would have been enhanced if they had acknowledged that family members were in attendance and had included more background in the presentation. Thank you, Waterloo, for always making our awards portion so special! ) In the afternoon we zipped to a grad party in SF. Then in the evening, I attended the graduation for the Waterloo High School Class of 2013. It is so fulfilling to watch former students make their milestone and to share hugs and congratulations afterwards! Part of our ceremony included a special tribute to our high school principal, Jeramy Clingerman, who is leaving to begin a job as a supt. of the Marcus Whitman dist. He shared a very moving farewell message. He did a highly commendable job as a teacher and administrator in Waterloo. We will miss him so much and wish him continued success in his career!
