Yesterday was definitely an Order of Eastern Star Day. Pat and I attended Grand Associate Patron Jack Olsons reception at the Masonic complex in Columbia, Mo. The reception was a really fun affair penned by Jack. Flag tributes were presented, Past Grand Matrons and Patrons were introduced, The 2015 Grand Famintroduced, Grand Representatives, Distinguished Members, Present and Past Matrons and Patrons were introduced and other members were recognized. Jacks wife Debbie received her Grand Representative of Scotland pen. A delicious lunch of loaded baked potato, salad and desert was served. Great fun, great fellowship and great food. It dont get any better than this, or does it. Then we got in the car and drove to Lamar, Mo for the installation of their officers. Evening meal of very tender steam, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, salads, drinks and tasty deserts was served. This years new officers were installed and last years officers retired. A wonderful day of fun, fellowship, food and many miles was concluded. We couldnt have done it without the hospitality of Karlene Baylous (Grand Associate Conductress) and her husband Doug Baylous hospitality allowing us to spend Friday night in their home in Ashland, Mo. A short drive to the Masonic Complex North of Columbia, Mo. May God abundantly bless the members of the Order of the Eastern star who have made our lives so full.
