Yesterday was not only amazing but heart warming as well. I met with the group of ladies who are sewing WASHABLE CLOTH MENSTRUAL PAD KITS for the young girls in Malawi Africa. When the girls are on their monthly cycle they cannot attend school as they have no protection therefore missing at least one week a month of classes and getting far behind. The kits that will be given to each girl contain 2 circle bases to hold the pads, 6 flannel pad inserts, 2 strong quart size Ziplock bags (to store soiled pads throughout the day) 2 pairs of panties, 4 safety pins to adjust the panties if too big and 1 cotton draw string carrying bag.
