Yesterday was one of the worst & one of the best days of my life. I never imagined that I would EVER have to be at the funeral of one of my lovely brothers, not even when we got into old age. But the number of people who came because they loved or liked or cared about our Mart were absolutely amazing. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE. Every seat in the church was taken, people were standing 4 and 5 deep up the aisles, at the back, and in the porch. Friends from school, football, the pub, 5 a side, his gas mates, all there for him. When we came out of the church at the end there were people standing outside in the rain. I stood on the altar to read a letter from Stacey to her dad, and when I saw the crowd at the back of church my heart soared for him. It was a very proud moment for me as his big sis, (as he called me on his last birthday text). I will love him and miss him for the rest of my life and pray that I will be with him again one day - but I am honoured to have been a part of yesterday
