Yesterday was our Ukrainian #IndependenceDay. The very word - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was our Ukrainian #IndependenceDay. The very word #INDEPENDENCE for Ukrainians has very different taste this year. We grew as a nation, we grew from pain, tears and sorrow and we created something immortal - Ukrainian #consciousness. August 24, 2014, music band - #OkealElzy performed at #Arena Stadium in #Lviv. The front man - #Slavko #Vakarchuk is originally from Lviv city, and it must have been very special concert for him. The song below is dedicated to those who could have been, are and will be our friends, and let it be this way. But I want to mention something else in this post, the #momentofsilence. After this song, #Vakarchuk initiated audience to pay a silent tribute to our dead brothers and sisters, who fought for our independence in the silent war against #Russia. 40,000 (!!!!!) of people suddenly swallowed all their words in attempt to pay a silent tribute to the death. I thought this #momentofsilence will last for a minute, but NO - somebody from the crowd suddenly screamed out loud HEROES DO NOT DIE!, and this was the very moment when the tribute was paid - when 40 thousand people shouted with the same rhythm simple and thus very meaningful and truthful phrase: Heroes do not die.... I love you, Ukraine. Happy Independence day, my people! youtu.be/gb0RCsqNMO4
