Yesterday was the IRS’s EITC Awareness Day. The EITC is a tax credit available to low to middle income individuals and families. It allows taxpayers to keep more of their earned income and even receive a larger refund. According to the #IRS, 1 in 5 taxpayers who are eligible to receive the Earned Income Tax Credit do not claim it on their tax return. EITC Awareness Day aims to raise greater awareness of the credit and make sure that everyone who qualifies for the EITC receives it.
