Yesterday was the kick-off of another Shelter Challenge (i.e. free money for VGSR) ! We have many new volunteers (thank you and welcome!) and veterans who may have decided to join us in our quest for the coveted Doggie Dollar. I thought it would be a good idea to refresh our collective memory of how it works so here goes ... As a volunteer, one of the easiest ways to help VGSR is by voting every day in the Animal Rescue Sites Shelter Challenge. There are 4 separate Challenges each year and all you have to do is click to vote. Each of us can vote once, per browser/computer, smartphone etc (anything with an internet connection) each day. Its a super easy and we have won $1,000 several times in past Challenges - all from people voting for VGSR. You dont even have to remember! Every morning I send an email to all VGSR volunteers reminding them to vote. Tomorrow youll receive the blanket email I send without these instructions. If you prefer not to receive the emails (opt out) just let me know and Ill remove you from the list immediately. In the section search and vote for a shelter type Virginia German Shepherd Rescue in the Shelter Name field and VA in the State field (you dont need to enter the city or zip). After your first vote you may find that our name pops up on its own toward the top of the page; sometimes it does - sometimes it doesnt.With one click of the Search button our name and city should pop up in a purple box - click the Vote button. Afterward you will see a box with random numbers and letters as well as a blank box. Enter the set of numbers/letters you see and click the Confirm Vote button. You should see a note that you voted for Virginia German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. Thats it! To see our standing in the Challenge, scroll to the bottom of the page; in the pet shelter rank box youll see where we stand in the Challenge as of that day. The rankings change daily, so dont let the number discourage you! Now, lets start collecting cash. Cheryl Brewster
