Yesterday was the last neap tide we could fish the Mersey, to be honest I am glad of the break. Nine days straight chartering takes its toll on you, we only had one bad day out of nine (I will take that any day). Most days seen catches of 25+ cod in the 2lb to 3lb range, with the odd bigger ones to 8lb 4oz, along with rays, odd conger, loads of big whiting, dabs and lots of undersize codling, Yesterday was by far the best day, we caught 55 cod from 2lb to 3lb, rays, whiting dabs and dogfish. Are total for this set of neap tides. 249 Cod from 2lb to 8lb 4oz, 41 Thornback Ray to 10lb, 3 Conger to 7lb 8oz, Loads of big whiting, dabs, dogfish and undersize codling.
