Yesterday was #valpoday and Im turning in my assignment late. Valparaiso University was my undergrad institution. Even though it is repeatedly mispronounced by emcees at conferences, I always correct them! Valpo gave me the opportunity to be a student-leader. I was able to be active in the campus community and have really more responsibility than I was ready for and be connected academically to my time at Northwestern University, NASA, and North Dakota State. Im not sure any other school would have encouraged my studies in chemistry and math alongside studies of theology and human geography! Finally, yet perhaps most importantly, were the deep and meaningful relationships I made with not only students but also faculty. Given the chance, I would choose Valpo again!
