Yesterday we had a point blank lightning strike and two very short power outages. My surge protectors handled everything fine. One sacrificed itself for the phone line. However the lightning must have sent some juice into the satellite dish (which is grounded) which went through the HD line. That fried the satellite receiver and our t.v. A new receiver is on its way, free. The t.v. though is probably heading to the electronics pile.
