Yesterday we lost a man I admired very much. He was not my father - TopicsExpress

Yesterday we lost a man I admired very much. He was not my father or my brother or even my friend. He is my Uncle Roger Hue Preacher. This man meant a lot to me personally. I can never say that we were very close in the traditional sense. He was always there with a smile and a warm greeting. He always cared about how you were doing and genuinely meant it. So it tears my heart out to know that I will never get to see him moving around on one of his boats or talking about fishing or how much fun he had down at the lake house with Aunt Janice and their children and grand child. I miss him terribly. It hurt so much to walk in to his home and not see him. I was always waiting for him to walk around the corner or be out on the patio steaming oysters. Alas that will never happen again. You will be missed terribly Uncle Roger. I hope that your parents and your son Bryant were waiting to greet you with loving smiles and warm hearts. This man I speak of was one of the most Honorable and steady man I have ever known. For those who knew him knew a friend. And for those you loved him now know the void that he filled in their lives. I have never been really emotional about someone dying. But this has hit me harder than even my mothers death did and I dont know why? I only saw my uncle roger a few times a year if I was lucky. So that makes a statement in its own right about just how profound an impact he made in my life.
