Yesterdays appeal to the emotions shook quite a number of people. Who would not be touched when ones beloved parents are alluded to? But when the tears have dried and shallow emotions are revealed for what they are, one has to buckle down to face the hard facts, the difficult issues, and the real-life big-ticket items that not even a raging river of tears will ever take away. Thanks for the tears, but no thanks! We want action, not fleeting passion. We look for resolve, not not salving potions. We look for results, not insults against the better sense of judgment of the people, never mind if the majority, owing to lack of education and other reasons, may be easily swayed by fleeting feelings and shallow sound bytes and disarming pixels.
