Yesterdays message at the fellowship, was titled, Run Slowly. Contradictory isnt it? And yet, thats what I was led to share. There is such a rush to go on and conquer. Its like a competition. If youre not doing great things, youre not a true believer, walking in faith and power. We hear tons of messages daily telling us to go out and conquer and get this and that and, not enough telling us to be rooted first and, know what God is calling us to, than spend time running all over the place and been blown over into error. I challenged them to not rush out of the university, thinking some form of grace will just sweep them off into heaven like they are Elijah. We are so in love with calling ourselves names and giving ourselves titles in church, that we dont stop to think if we truly believe and understand what we are saying. We just get high and shout, calling ourselves conquerors, Kings, Queens, victorious and the like and we have no idea what it means. At best, some will take a scripture and twist it, add in some dictionary definitions and then declare things in the Spirit. Months from then, his situation hasnt changed but he is still faithing it. Go to the Word of God. Go to prayer. Go and see and understand what these things mean before you start holding God to account for things He never promised and you never grasped. I also explained that we have a tendency to get comfortable and complacent, neglecting the place of preparing and prayer when dealing with lifes issues. Such that when certain challenges and temptations come, we fall like a pack of cards. My time was cut short because I arrived late at the venue (thank you aero frustrators) but, I trust God that I got through to someone there. We have a place in Gods plan but we must Know what our part is. All these running to churches and programs to get hands laid on and rub tons of anointing oil, when we dont even have any idea what God is, who we are and what we are doing, is not going to help. In fact, many then idolize the oil and the minister and look to those things and not God. #ListenLearnGrow
