Yet again weve had another fantastic event at The Poet & Castle for our 3rd Darts knockout open. 58 players of all standards turned out including 9 PDC stars, Colin Osborne, Kevin McDine, David Pallett, Darren Johnson, Terry Temple, Mick Todd, Matt Padgett, Nick Fullwell and Darron Brown plus lots of other local darting talents from all over. An absolute quality standard throughout the day left Mick Haynes from Buxton and Shaun Carroll from the West Midlands fighting for the £500 jackpot.... and what an amazing final it was with Mick securing a 6-2 victory with a superb 12 darter finishing on the bull! However, neither of the finalists had an easy run as Shaun had to take out PDC star Kevin McDine in the Semi finals with a 5-3 victory and on the other side of the draw Mick came from behind and sealed a tight 5-4 victory over David Pallett. Also a shout out to Gaz Watts, Nick Fullwell, Mark Craddock and Darron Brown for making it to the prize money (quarter finals). A huge thankyou to Andy Nicholls for the compere and Darron Brown for all his help on making this event a success and also a massive thankyou to everyone who gave us their support and took part.
