Yet another amazing weekend! Student Fest once again did not fail to top itself. The level of expertise by AMPD Band members and individual performers continues to grow exponentially and the professional production has risen to new highs as this year’s sound and lighting team produced the best Student Fest stage show to date. The entire weekend was hosted by the incredibly gracious staff and volunteers of Risen Life Church, who added some exciting new elements to the Fest with the creation of a decked out Student Hospitality Room and a creative new Photo Op area which were both hosted by the Risen Life Volunteer Team. The efforts of our dedicated students, staff, sponsors, production personnel, volunteers from On Track Music, Groove Dr’s, and Risen Life Church, made this year’s theme of “Rockbusters: Hollywood Hits” a Student Fest of legendary status. Student Fest 2014 was attended by thousands of fans, hundreds of performers, and scores of volunteers, sponsors and staff members. The celebration included Friday and Saturday evening Rock Shows and five individual Saturday daytime Jam Sessions that gave our students the chance to wow their fans with incredible performances. This year’s theme gave students the chance to play songs from their favorite movie soundtracks and to dress in styles that portrayed the theme of the movie they chose. Each daytime Jam Session was kicked off with an incredible performance by the amazing teachers of the On Track/Groove Dr’s Staff Band and was immediately followed by an astounding array of solo and group performers from the On Track Guitar School and the Groove Dr’s Drum Program. Highlights of this year’s show included a rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (performed by Indigo Underglow). A killer version of Whole Lotta Love (done by Made By Monsters). The Channel 4 News Team doing Afternoon Delight (Silk n Suede), and a surprise visit by the world famous Blues Brothers! The show was topped off with an incredible performance by the members of this year’s AMPD Finale Band. Both evenings featured killer performances by the Risen Life band along with the amazing bands of our famous AMPD Student Rock Band Program: Silk n Suede, Life Blind, 2nd Chance, Black Void, Made By Monsters, Purely Infamous, Reversal Dedication, The Understatements, Indigo Underglow, Highway Run, and Reverse Order... Way to Rock Guys, You Killed It!
