Yet another traffic snarl and yet another angry motorist pours out - TopicsExpress

Yet another traffic snarl and yet another angry motorist pours out ire in ear about how us outsiders should know our place. Sigh. Have no problem with hearty exchange of profanities between fellow drivers, but why this line of argument, #Bangalore? Not among those who rant about how the locals should be grateful for the salubrious effect of these same outsiders on their economy, or arguments along those lines. No, nor do I believe one must master the tongue of the town to be considered an equal. Do as much as possible given limited time and countless items on the bucket list to learn about culture of immediate environs (language, cuisine, architecture, what have you) - but any more of this hostility and am sure that eventually outsiders - whoever those nebulous entities are - *will* stop pouring in, and what a tragedy for all sides that will be. Important to note also, however, that this same city has surprised in good ways on so many occasions. Unusual cordiality from traffic police; cabs that are safer and more efficient than in several other cities; flower-selling ladies on buses, who squeeze so that another behind may rest on space clearly not meant for so many. =) And the list continues to grow.
