Yet another way to target vehicle drivers. For revenue raising purposes. This is not about saving lives. Otherwise they would be posted at known accident sites. We keep getting told speed kills. More government propaganda! Its not speed that kills. Its not the speed itself that causes the accident. It is inexperienced drivers or other influences such as road condition or tired drivers. I am not saying speed is not a contributing factor. Because it is. I am saying that if governments really cared about saving lives there would be less reliance on revenue raising measures such as fines. And more money spent on roads and other appropriate infrastructure. But that would not allow our politicians to give them selves the massive pay rises they do not deserve at the expense of motorists. Sick of being a cash cow for these people.! And my point by using it here. We have these sorts of cameras to detect drivers doing the wrong thing. Why can we not use them to detect cyclists as well? If the purpose if these things was to teach us to do the right thing. Then they would apply to all road users. And yes cyclists are capable of speeding. We have cameras at lights that routinely catch then running reds. But they have no idea where to send the fines..!
