Yield: Makes a little more than 1 cup Ingredients: 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup paprika 4 tablespoon salt 2 tablespoon black pepper 2 tablespoon chili powder 2 tablespoon garlic powder 2 tablespoon onion powder 1 teaspoon cayenne or more if you want it HOTTER!! Preparation: Combine all ingredients together and transfer to an air tight container I like to play with this base recipe and add other things like cumin, red pepper flakes, dried ground jalapeño, lemmon pepper etc. Play with it, but the base rub is a good solid rub for pork shoulder, ribs, pork loin, smoked meatloaf, etc. If your smoking beef (tri tip, brisket, steak, rib roast) use less sugar and more peppers and salts and savory spices..
