Yobe Government assures NYSC corps members of adequate security The orientation for Yobe corps members was held in Bauchi. The Yobe State Government on Thursday promised corps members posted to the state adequate security and logistics to enable them to carry out their primary assignments. The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Tijjani Zakari, gave the assurance at Kangere in Bauchi State during the swearing-in of 2014 Batch ‘A’ corps members. “You are aware of the security situation that warrants us to camp our NYSC here and last year in Nassarawa. I want to assure you that security has come back to Yobe. “By the next time, I am sure we will do our orientation in Yobe; there is no problem. We have overcome the situation,” he said. Mr. Zakari said the Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Geidam, is doing everything humanly possible to make sure that everything is okay. “My message to corps members posted to Yobe (is that) they are welcome to Yobe. We assure them of their security and safety; Yobe State is a very peaceful state. “I am sure Yobe and Bauchi State Governments are doing very well (everything possible) to ensure that everybody is secure and everybody is safe. “We will provide every security and logistics to take care of our corps members posted to the state,” he said. Mr. Zakari urged the corps members to feel at home, reiterating the state government’s commitment to ensure their safety. Yobe is one of the three states under emergency rule because of the activities of the outlawed Boko Haram sect. --- NAN
