Yokwe Today marks the grand opening of a new group of leaders on Campus. We call ourselves the [One.CMI.Party], time and again has shown the need for a stronger student body government to attain the understanding of what is needed to voice the concerns of all students of C.M.I. We invite you to join our Party Movement to make C.M.I as it was in time past. A college for all and a place of learning. There is in reality a class of students that think they have the right to dictate our path for all to follow on. Whether it be in activities or their own personal agenda on campus. Think of it this way, it is not hard enough for those that have the means to live off their family that are stable. For example, for those that ride the Rosa bus, find it hard to pay $2 just to ride the bus, unlike before. What about the dorm students who pay for their own washing machine and those living in Arrack dont even pay. We find there are some issue that need to be spoken to whole student body. We Marshallese are just too afraid to voice our opinion because we say I am afraid. These are some of many issues we face today at the college. Where do our sisters and brothers stand as they start off CMI in developmental level. Are they lost, where is the encouragement they need to press on to credit level. We should start a mentor program to help them in their time of need. I started off as developmental student failing on my first semester. We need to think together on how to improve the chances of passing. WHAT DOES IT OUR GROUP NAME MEAN? ONE.CMI.PARTY O= One goal! Equal rights to speak your opinion in CMI. We need to stand for our rights as students for those continuing and new arrivals. N= No one is higher than the rest. We consider ourselves equals as fellow college students. We stand together to graduate from CMI. THERE MUST NEVER BE AN POPULAR GROUP THAT GETS ALL THE GOOD STUFF get a fair share of the pie. E= Education is a right to any person as a freedom to express, we built on the notion that CMI was made for the people of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to better improve the country. Opening a gateway to other Four Year Colleges. CMI is a center of learning, we should take advantage of what have now and not later.
