You Are All It Update #1, Week 1: The first week of the You Are - TopicsExpress

You Are All It Update #1, Week 1: The first week of the You Are All It campaign has been slow going. We fight on. If I may diverge from the campaign itself for a bit, here’s the real deal…the real us, the real me. I am a single father and one of my main goals in raising my son is teaching him to work hard for what he wants out of life. In doing the grass roots part of spreading the word, my partners and I constructed a billboard on the top of my s.u.v. and drove around LA all week. I brought my son with us to the Home Depot to get the supplies. From time to time he watched us paint, build, and secure it to the roof rack of the car. I try to teach him that obstacles will get in the way of goals, but when those obstacles arise you have to find a productive way around them, or preferably to go right over or through them. What we don’t do is let obstacles slow us down or stop us. Sometimes we even need to search out and find the inspiration we need to keep moving forward. When my son is old enough I will introduce him to one of my inspirations, Rocky Balboa. Though he is a fictional character, he is the embodiment of spirit and gumption. “Keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.” Rocky has always simply stated exactly how success is fought for. After this first week of the You Are All It Kickstarter campaign I needed some inspiration; some R and R. That’s Rocky and Robert Griffin III! Today my son and I watched, as we always do, our Redskins game. Their season thus far has also been slow going. I’ve explained to my son however, that we don’t stop rooting for them, and they don’t stop doing their best for us. It doesn’t matter how many times you lose, you keep not only trying, but you give it everything you’ve got every time. Today our skins won, so my son can now see the results of the effort put forth by the guy on his bedroom wall. Yes there is a FatHead (life-size sticker) of RGIII in his room. Not only does RGIII have the same birthday as me (oh yeah, how’s that for good company?) but he is an example giving life your all! So, please excuse the sports metaphors and pep talk, but we at You Are All It want you to know that we will not stop giving it our all! So without further ado we’re ready for round two. Cut me Mick! “All your strength, all your power, all your love. Everything you’ve got. Right now!” –Duke (RockyIV) SEE THE UPDATE VIDEO ONLY ON KICKSTARTER kickstarter/projects/1590631489/you-are-all-it/posts
