How many times have you heard this story, (if you grew up in church) and never knew David was motivated by the reward? Yes, David stood motivated by righteous indignation. Yes, David stood motivated by his love and jealousy for God. But few ever understand David was likewise motivated by a reward. Saints, its ok to expect a reward for standing up for righteousness.
