You Cant Defeat The Giant Until You Ask The Hard Questions I Samuel 17:26 David asked the soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel? Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?” You cant defeat the giant until you first learn to ask the hard questions; Whats my reward ? Who is he? Why are you permitting him to get away with defying the living God? The first question reveals incentive; Whats my reward? How many times have you heard this story, (if you grew up in church) and never knew David was motivated by the reward? Yes, David stood motivated by righteous indignation. Yes, David stood motivated by his love and jealousy for God. But few ever understand David was likewise motivated by a reward. Saints, its ok to expect a reward for standing up for righteousness. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.. Revelation 22:12 Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me, to repay everyone for what he has done! David fought Goliath because he wanted a reward! He had expectation of a reward! I expect my family to be saved. I expect healing, holiness, and health. I expect an increase. I expect open heavens. I expect favor! I expect what money cant buy! I dare you to make this prayer today; Im about to be rewarded for standing up for truth, saying no to hell, shouting my walls down, crossing my Red Sea, not bowing down, facing the wall, going up the mountain one more time, And giving all to Jesus..
