David in essence said, What I fought in the past prepared me for this hour! I defeated the lion and the bear. If they stole what belonged to me, I pursued it. If it turned towards me, I took away its ability to bite, rip, tear or devour. I grabbed its jaw! Wait! Did anyone see David conquer the bear and the lion? No! What you overcome in private will enable you to triumph in public. Many of you have been fighting private battles for years. Yet here you are! Still standing. That means you defeated the bear and lion and therefore you qualify to defeat the Giant! Repeat after me: I know what it is to fight for my sheep. I know what it is to fight for my dream. I know what it is to fight when no one is watching! I overcame the bear. I overcame the lion. Now Im ready for the giant!
