You Do Matter! A glance at our generation quickly reveals that the individual has been lost in a world of crowds, of mass production, and of mass propaganda. Truly, it does seem as though one person does not count for much, not in the world that man has contrived and fashioned for himself. But then, I catch a glimpse of a lonely Man sitting by a well, talking with one helpless woman. I see him, on a hillside, making use of the resources of one small lad to feed a huge multitude. I catch the distant echoes of his voice, saying to one despairing soul, Thy faith hath made thee whole. I glimpse him on a cross, reaching with the arms of love out across the intervening yards (and also out across the intervening years!) to forgive one repentant sinner. In the world that man has contrived the individual is ignored and shattered and lost. But in the world that God created, it is the individual that matters!
