You Leaped Me One Step Higher…. All set at the foot of Mt. Pundaquit So naïve on what lies ahead Just you who keeps my strength From whatever danger that chases me to death We trekked straight along the foot of the mountain With white sandy soil and inexorable sun beams A bottle of water and a thought of YOU Is the hope that I have, every step that I do The fresh air around, the birds that flew The tall and thin bamboos, the taste of palenlen The huge chop of boulders, the labyrinth of pathways All these have cherished, and wiped away the worries We have crossed the mountain 400 meters stretched The wondrous of nature has shown its best But every time I feel happiness in all that I see It’s YOU that I hope and pray who’s with me I dreamed that you were hiding behind those trees Hiding yourself and calling me jb The air also whispered begging for me To keep up the pace despite its complexity Every step that I take you are in me And it leaps me higher to see its beauty The sole tree on the slope, the steep dusty way The deep cliff beside has never interfered The hopeless souls, the empty bottles They never stopped me to continue this journey At last we reached the peak of the mountain We shouted for joy watching the whole terrain Our dry throats, painful feet and our burning skin Can never resist the sight coz it’s really worth inspiring Walking down the steep with less anxiety Despite of its risk, in faces are gaiety Again, I remember you, smiling back at me Though I know at the start you strongly disagree Rocky, sandy, dusty routes Unending curves that made me doubt Are we lost? Are we heading the right way? Or just that time is playing a game At last we reached, the last turn Through that rocky road And unending gray sand In between pine trees The tents stood still The sun is still shining The smell is inviting 4 hours of sweat Half hour of death Dry places remind me Of hopeless journey But you are with me Never have forsaken me You leaped me one step higher Though my heart is so weary.
