You NEED to KNOW this! Posted by Alan D Vera 2014/03/05: Raphael Cruz - Why Ted Cruz turned out as he did. Last night I had the distinct honor of finally meeting, speaking with and listening to Pastor Raphael Cruz, father of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. I gained insight into why Ted Cruz so loves our Republic, our Constitution & Bill of Rights and our free enterprise system. Happily, in this case the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. As a freshman in high school, Ted Cruz was one of 5 students selected by the Free Enterprise Institute for a special program. Each participant memorized the Constitution, and for the next 4 years traveled all across Texas giving speeches on what the Founding Fathers intended for the U.S. In addition to insights into his son’s character, Pastor Cruz made many key points, some of which I’ll summarize very briefly here. 1. Cuba & Obama: Having lived through the rise of Fidel Castro under the banner of “Hope & Change” (literally) in Cuba, Pastor Cruz explained how Obama is following Castro’s program to the letter here in the U.S. 2. Government vs. God: Every attack on religious liberty launched by the Obama administration is identical to every program launched in Cuba and other Communist countries to substitute government for God. The attack on marriage and family is key to ensuring greater loyalty to government than to any other person or institution on earth. 3. Political Correctness is a mindset designed to hand victory to the Communists. Both McCain and Romney were FOOLS to allow political correctness to prevent them from labeling Obama in a truthful way. 4. Complacency is the biggest enemy to restoring the Republic. 5. The Tea Party is the biggest threat to Obama and the U.S. Communists and the greatest hope for restoration of federalism. Pastor Cruz said that in deep prayer earlier this year, God told him that the one group He holds most responsible for the demise of this republic is the Christian Pastors. He recounted stories of pastors in the original revolution who would preach by day and literally fight the British at night. He said that the majority of U.S. Christian pastors today are spineless cowards who will answer for their negligence. He closed with a nearly religious ceremony in which he had each of us face another attendee not in our immediate family and repeat after him the closing words of the Declaration of Independence. “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, or Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
