You Will Have Conflict But when the Jews of Thessalonica - TopicsExpress

You Will Have Conflict But when the Jews of Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there too, stirring up and inciting the crowds. Then the brethren immediately sent Paul off on his way to the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there. Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens. - Acts 17:13-15a Paul goes from Philippi to Thessalonica. In Thessalonica, many Jews are persuaded to believe that Jesus is indeed the Messiah; but, as happened before, Jewish leaders come and stir up trouble for Paul so that they have to leave Thessalonica. The same scenario happens again in Beroea so Paul escapes to Athens. The pattern of Pauls travels is somewhat comical. Everywhere he goes, he is very successful in converting people to Christ -- but then that creates conflict with anyone for whom the message of the Gospel causes financial or personal distress. Paul finds he cannot remain in a town because his life is in danger and he moves on to the next town. He continues to persevere despite the opposition. In bringing the Gospel to others, we will inevitably experience conflict. Pray today to learn from Paul and not allow conflict to keep you from bringing the Gospel to others. Pray for the perseverance to keep on seeking opportunities to bring friends, family members, and co-workers into a relationship with Jesus.
