You all got conned, or most of you. The average family now has two working parents earning no more than what one could provide 20 years ago. Consecutive Governments have reduced wages and devalued parenting, convincing good parents doing the most important job in the World, bringing up children that they are valueless. We now have a system that will force Mothers into work from an extremely early age forgetting the home still needs attending, kids get sick, washing still needs doing kids come out of school from as early as 2 p.m. A Daily Mail (Spit) article from January THIS YEAR puts a stay at home Mothers value at $113,568 or a little short of £68,000 per year for a whopping 94 hours of work that is necessary for ordinary living with kids. The Government are stating clearly to neglect your children and your home in favour of you giving them more money via taxation. Children are our number one priority what is the point of having to pay a major part of your salary for a stranger to look after your child ? It benefits no one except Government. Any type of child care puts your child 8 times more at risk of abuse. The occurrence of which ends up costing the system substantial amounts in mental illness costs and at times Policing costs. There is, in my mind, no substitute for a Mother and certainly not a cost I would put on one. Homes do not care for themselves and unless one can afford cooks and cleaners as well as Childcare the workload mostly for Mothers, though not always, has grown immensely. The con has worked out fantastically for Government who now see themselves collecting and spending far more taxes. The only problem is that the employment isnt there anymore and so we see Mothers being labelled unemployed. Somewhat a misnomer in my book. A living wage is needed and one that will enable a parent to do as parents should - look after the children and the home. They cannot get cleaners, child care and cook on expenses and its time Parliament and our MPs were reminded of that. The value of a house parent is beyond pricing. No one, absolutely no one can take the place of a parent without damaging a child as can be seen by Parliamentarians who were shipped off to the Nanny and boarding school. A complete re-evaluation of society and its workings is needed, for too long now we have allowed Parliament to rule that taxation of the people was the prime function and the more it could tax the better. Instead Government should be looking to employers to pay for what benefits everyone which is a good, well and happy society. If employers are unwilling to voluntarily look after employees we must legislate.
