You all know I love my Westalee Design rulers. However, cutting very narrow strips can be a little tricky due to the bar underneath so heres a tip I learned from Leonie West. Blue painters tape! Love this stuff and it should be in every quilters box of tricks. Tape your fabric down at both ends, cut your strip and move it to one side. Continue. Viola! No fabric slipping under the ruler. The tape doesnt leave any sticky residue on your fabric or your board and is available in most hardware stores.
