You all know the Octopus and many things about it. But I bet you that you never heard or see the following thing about Octopus. 1] Octopuses are waaaaaay old. The oldest known octopus fossil belongs to an animal that lived some 296 million years ago. 2] Octopuses have three hearts. Two of the hearts work exclusively to move blood beyond the animal’s gills, while the third keeps circulation flowing for the organs. 3] Octopus ink doesn’t just hide the animal. The ink also physically harms enemies. It contains a compound called tyrosinase, which, in humans, helps to control the production of the natural pigment melanin. But when sprayed in a predator’s eyes, tyrosinase causes a blinding irritation. 4] Octopuses have blue blood. To survive in the deep ocean, octopuses evolved a copper rather than iron-based blood called hemocyanin, which turns its blood blue. This copper base is more efficient at transporting oxygen then hemoglobin when water temperature is very low and not much oxygen is around. 5] Octopus can leave their legs when they are in crucial time. And new lag replace to the old one after some time period. 6] The female giant Pacific octopus lays between 18,000 to 100,000 eggs, which she guards for up to six months until they hatch. 7] The male giant Pacific octopus dies soon after mating. The female dies after her eggs hatch. 8] Octopus is the only creature after Human who can see very clearly everything like we can, not perfectly like us but good enough.
