You are going to win Luke 22:31-32 Jan. 25, 2015 I am a little late to the movie series. My cousin and I watched the whole Lord of the Rings series one day. We sat down at 8 in the morning one day and watched them straight through to the Hobbit. J. R. Tolkien, who wrote the series, is part of a group of writers know as the Inklings. He is reported to have brought C. S. Lewis to faith. Lewis is a known writer of classic Christian text. Tolkien brought Lewis to faith. Lord of the Rings is his understanding of biblical and spiritual principles based on his understanding of spiritual warfare. There are always two wars going on. What the main character is fighting and what the people are fighting in order to win. I am not talking about when they used to blame sickness and issues on demons; and now have science to explain what is actually happening. I am talking about the real thing. The reality is that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. There is the reality of the physical world. There are also angels and demons. There is a God and a devil. I don’t let everybody pray for me. I don’t let every symbol in my house. I believe that there are people who are in touch with other worlds. I want folks who can pray to hang out with me. I recognize that my enemy is not human. Spiritual warfare is real. You may feel like your going through it right now but you will win. This story talks about why God lets some stuff happen in your life. How can God use what was meant for evil for good. Jesus tells Peter that the devil wants him. He wants to sift you. But Jesus said that I have prayed for you. But He also says when you are converted. But if Jesus says that He prayed for you why do you still have to go thru it. Can’t He get you out of it. If He gets you out of it, then He will get you out of what you need to strengthen the brethren with. Whatever your dealing with right now, it’s still in God’s hands. This is still under the control of God. Jesus said satan has desired you. He asked for permission to mess with you. In Job God gave permission. God can shut it down. Only things that God allows can come into your life. He can block it if He wants to. What the devil tries to use for evil G will use for good. If He allowed it, it will come out for your good. God will use it to put something in you that you need, get something out of you that you don’t need or to get things away from you. Sometimes He will put you in a thing to produce something in you that wasn’t in you before. You need to be careful when you ask for patience and strength. Patience and strength comes when He puts you in stuff that you thought you couldn’t make it through. Sometimes there are some things in you that God will let happen to knock some stuff out of you, because you can’t make it to the next level still carrying it. ‘Sometimes we don’t realize who is around us until stuff happens. People who cant handle your storm need to go. Be glad you found out they couldn’t handle the shallow water, because God is getting ready to take you into the deep. If God allowed it there is something in it for you. He said sin seeks to sift you. Sifting separates the flour. That’s what the devil is trying to do. He wants to pull you apart. Jesus is talking about what happens next. Satan creates an atmosphere in which Peter denies the Christ. Satan can’t make you do something. He can only make you think that his way is the only right way. Peter said that I will always be with you. When someone points Peter out, he denies Jesus. Jesus said before the morning you will deny me three times. Peter your sin is not a surprise to me. Peter said I am not going to do it and then does it. The denial is not all that deep. It starts something in Peter. Satan will seek to get you into sin, because it starts a process. When we sin we first feel guilt. Guilt turns to shame. Guilt is different from shame. Guilt is for what you did. Shame is for who you are. Shame stays and turns into disillusionment. Peter ends up going back to fishing. He was ready to give up. But Jesus said I prayed for you that your faith fail not. But you may ask, didn’t he fail? He didn’t stand up for Jesus. Falling is not failing unless you don’t get back up. You don’t judge for a Peter in your life. Jeus said He was going to stick with him until he comes through. Jesus told him it was going to happen, but He didn’t give up on Peter. When he gets back up, he is ready to go tell the truth. You weren’t ready before until you went through some stuff. Now you can tell someone what He really can do. God can make ways out of no ways. It’s in God’s hands. Just because you have fallen doesn’t mean you can’t get back up. The Bible says a righteous man will fall 7 times. You haven’t always felt good about what you did Saturday night, but God gave you a second chance. Be glad that you are living another chance. Now you look at everything as material for your testimony. God will allow you to get in some stuff so that you can get out of some stuff. Now you can help somebody. I don’t just preach stuff that I have read. I preach what I have experienced and felt the heat. I am one who recognizes that if it had not been for His saving grace in my life I wouldn’t know what I know, wouldn’t be where I am. So don’t throw in the towel. Your breakthrough is on the way. Jesus said that I prayed for you. After you go through it, you will have a testimony when you come out. God will walk with you and will talk with you. Everything you have been through is material for your testimony. God needs a few folk to testify that He is a heart fixer, a mind regulator, a lawyer in the courtroom, a doctor in the sick room, can heal your broken marriage, can comfort you in the midnight hour. God is good. He is able. You may not have liked how it went, but now that you have gone through it, you realize that it had to go that way. Be glad that the Lord will fight your battles, will restore your joy, your peace, your power, your anointing. He will bring what you need. He will restore what the locusts have eaten. If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you and will cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Your going to win but you can’t give up. You have to keep fighting. He will give you a testimony. You have been blessed. You have a testimony. He kept you in the hallow of His hand. If God has done anything for you, give Him a praise. If He has brought you out, give Him a praise. If God has given you another chance, give Him a praise. Peter you’re going to win. I am not leaving you here. I am not leaving you in this. I prayed for you. Some of us need to stop acting like we have been so holy all of our lives. He has been good. He prayed for me. He brought me out. He gave me another chance. We do a war cry when the devil wants to do war with us so we let him know that we won’t go down without a fight. It means I am not giving up. This will not take me out. You may be in the battle of your life. The devil may be trying to sift you. God, we are in the middle of the fight. Thank You for telling for us about it. We know it is under Your control and trust Your heart. We are holding on to you knowing it will be alright. Help me get back to my place of praise and worship with You. Give me boldness to tell others about. Thank you for not letting it kill me. Thank You for not throwing me away. I am ready to run on and see what the end will be. Thank You for giving me another chance. I am ready to tell somebody that You wiped tears from my eyes. I am not ashamed of Your gospel or Your word. I pray for the release of others. Break chains and yokes. Move by Your spirit. Loose someone in the name of Jesus. We claim victory and call the name of Jesus. At His name children are coming home, marriages are made whole, bodies are healed. Thank You for deliverance, freedom, breakthrough. God we will give You all the praise, glory an honor. Amen To God be the glory for the thing He has done With His blood He has saved me With His power He has raised me To God be the glory for the things He has done Just let me live my life and Let it be pleasing Lord to Thee And if I gain any praise let it go to Calvary With His blood He has saved me With His power He has raised me To God be the glory for the things He has done
