You will learn from admission experts with over 10 years of application expertise what makes up a winning statement, how to avoid common mistakes, how to increase its impact while remaining true to yourself, how to use style and grammar to create a flawless, powerful, compelling story. Next you will hear brief introduction from Ross School of Medicine, one of the top offshore schools, followed by an inspiring successful residency matching story of a doctor who matched for residency within 6 months of coming to Canada just after becoming a father! We will end with a student panel who will share their journey to medical school, the activities, and work they put toward their application. At the end of the workshop one lucky member in the audience (either a prospective applicant or an unsuccessful one in the 2013-2014 competition) will have a detailed analysis of his/her statement done.
