You can learn so much about people on public transportation. All you have to do is take off your headphones and theres an abundance of info learned about peoples lives...whether you care to know or not. You also learn how rude people can be. In particular how rude white people, women in particular can be. If youre in a staircase, hallway, etc that has 2 way traffic, theres etiquette. Move to your right! Its typical arrogance and mob mentality...but you know what I realized- we can help people be more polite and considerate. And more than a smile, or kindly expressed excuse me , I have experimented and discovered that the most affective way to help others, particularly caucasians, but in general - is a well placed shoulder into the middle of someones chest that abruptly makes them recognize oh, I have to consider this other person ...as they stumble to recover or quickly realize they cannot walk tight thru you. Youre welcome CTA riders! #MoveOver PS this rule doesnt apply to elders, those with special needs, or children. We should move over for them. Your desire to go to the front or sense of supremacy and privilege dont qualify or move me.
