You dont really have to have the directional step vs. crossover step debate if the set-up is open enough to clear the front hip easily. Works really well at lower levels where pickoff moves arent refined, but has also been used with great success at higher levels if timing is practiced sufficiently. Just need to get into front knee a bit better with this example to create positive shin angle easier - but no reason for lead foot to leave the ground (directional step) from this starting position. #baserunning #MLB #CSPFamily #speed #basestealing
